Hi Gary, Drat! I really wish I had known that at the time! In truth, I think I had pretty much run the battery down on taking video clips and was doomed anyway but that’s incredibly helpful to know for the next time. Thanks, Gary.

Wikiloc doesn’t require data signal Andrea, you can put your phone in flight mode and it will still locate you as long as you have your GPS turned on. This way, your phone battery can last a couple of days, if your careful with it and not using it for much else. I’ve used Wikiloc (and Viewranger) for some years in this way.
